Origin and character background (Lore)

Son Goku is a Saiyan who was sent to Earth whilst still a child. Raised as a human and trained in martial arts, he gradually became one of the planet’s greatest defenders. His drive to push himself beyond his limits constantly drives him to seek out new opponents and perfect his techniques, including the famous Kamehameha.

Transforming into a Super Saiyan significantly increases his power and alters his appearance, giving him golden hair, turquoise eyes and a particularly intense aura. Goku first achieves this form whilst overcome by extreme emotion, during his battle against Frieza on Namek. It subsequently becomes one of his most iconic transformations in Dragon Ball Z.
